How to use Comb with WillowWood OMEGA

We built Comb to work with as many tools as possible within the industry of O&P. Our goal is to be as adoptable and as user friendly as possibly when it comes to the digital workflow, so we put together a quick step by step guide on how to use Comb with OMEGA by WillowWood.

The Comb 3D Scanner exports .OBJ and .STL file-types which are compatible with all modern Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Modeling (CAM) tools. Follow these instructions to use the Comb 3D Scanner with whichever rectification software you choose to work with. Please understand the Comb 3D Scanner is only a scanner and is not affiliated with OMEGA by WillowWood.

Steps:

  1. Open the Comb App on your iPhone (sign in if you haven’t done so already)

  2. Scan the patient in a slow and continuous motion

  3. Once complete, save the scan as an .STL or .OBJ. filetype (scans are automatically saved to The Cloud)

  4. On a desktop, go to portal.combscan.com and login to your Comb Account

    • Use modern internet browsers, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, to access the Portal

    • Caution: Do not access portal.combscan.com from your mobile device

  5. From the Portal, locate and download the scan(s) onto your computer

  6. Open WillowWood OMEGA Software on your computer.

  7. Click + Add Patient on the Home screen.

  8. After completing the New Patient Information window, select a Condition from the Select a Condition window

    1. Select Save to continue.

  9. Once in the patient folder, click on + Socket, + Design Liner, + Helmet or + Orthosis to open the Capture Stack in OMEGA

  10. From within the Capture Stack, To import a scan, click the Search for file icon to browse for an AOP, STL, or OBJ file. 

  11. Locate your Comb Scan, and import the file!
